Sponsored by the International Association of Providers of AIDS Care IAPACAdherence will be the 15th conference in an annual series of conferences featuring the presentation and discussion of antiretroviral therapy ART and biomedical prevention adherence within the context of optimizing care and prevention continua to achieve HIV epidemic control. In addition to a half-day more of conference programming, Adherence will feature two new tracks: Implementation Science and Community Engagement. Moreover, to limit production costs borne by presenters and the transport of paper-based posters on aircraft, IAPAC is transitioning to electronic posters e-posters. The target audience for Adherence includes physicians, nurses and nurse-practitioners, pharmacists, psychologists, behavioral scientists, social scientists, implementation science experts, public health specialists, epidemiologists, social workers, case managers, peer educators and navigators, and community health workers working in the field of HIV medicine. The conference may also be of interest to individuals who wish to advocate and implement effective, evidence-informed HIV policies and interventions in their respective communities. The University of Miami Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine designates this live activity for a maximum of Physicians should claim only credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. Applications for physician, nurse, pharmacist, psychologist, and other accreditation are pending. Disclosure about provider and faculty relationships, or the lack thereof, will be provided to learners. Adherence provides the opportunity to meet with more than delegates from a variety of practice settings and experiences, including physicians, nurses, pharmacists, psychologists, social workers, community health workers, and patient advocates. Adherence will focus on state-of-the-science evidence, best practices, and the practical, real-world implementation of behavioral, clinical, structural, and other interventions to maximize the therapeutic and preventative effects of antiretroviral agents. The conference will also provide a forum for discussion and presentation of implementation science focused on closing evidence-to-practice gaps across the HIV prevention and care continua, as well as community engagement in planning, implementing, and monitoring HIV responses in their communities. The conference will feature a keynote address, memorial lecture, and memorial colloquium, as well as plenary addresses, panel discussions, oral abstract sessions, and an e-poster session.
